Soul:ution @ botw 21.03.03
Came down to Soul:ution (Marcus Intalex's Manchester residency at Band-On-The-Wall) a couple of times before I ventured down with my camera. What finally drew me was the prospect of tonights' guest DJ Flight (1xtra), one of the few female DJs to hold her own in a predominantly male populated territory of Drum'n'Bass
Inspired by & drawn initially toward girl duo Kemistry-&-Storm, they proved a gateway to both Metalheadz Sunday Sessions and then Swerve residencies before being swept up alongside Bailey, L-Double and Sappo to represent all sides of D'n'B to the newly founded BBC1xtra station
Tonight DRS takes a break evidently while his Broke'n'English partner Strategy fills in. Also captured on film tonight, displeased with a tiring audiences lacklustre response & appreciation, an impromtu spur-of-the-moment old-school sound-system performance from local legend Spikey T
