Skittles Tip-I-Cal-Ly launch @ noho 06.04.11
Just three weeks in preparation for the launch of his debut single Typ-I-Cal-Y (Estate Agents) Skittles performs with a full live band! What a night!
The crowd gathered in a packed Noho on a Wednesday night were in for a treat. Konny Kon (Broke'n'English) warmed the room. Chunky & Sparks performed. Mancunian First Lady Jenna G gave an unexpected rendition of some very soulful ballads, very unlike her D'n'B anthems, reminding us that her talents are not limited. She drew the crowd in and had them in the palm of her hand by two songs
Time for the main event. Skittles takes to the stage with band and back-up; MC Fox, Bricktop, Chunky and DRS; and rips into his set, forgetting words at one point, but the crowd don't care. They already love him & his songs; including 'Marijuana', summery sing-along 'Murdering People', finally 'Typically' which doubles in tempo & descends into ska! Just for fun. Without missing a beat we lunge straight into a cover version of MC Trigga's Manchester anthem 'Gaza'. Just for badness. Just for the blessed here assembled. Free Skittles for everyone!
