Heroes: Of Dub
Can't actually believe it! Reggae Superstar Double Bill!! Full-Tilt Blag-On!! Access granted to an almost-empty photographers pit at Manchester Academy tonight!! (December 1st 2004). Meant I had enough time & space to frame some nice b&w shots of two MAJOR heroes; Horace Andy, long-established reggae singer as well as being the soulful voice of Massive Attack for the e-generation
Happy to report that the man still has his velvet tonsils intact & in good condition: that man can SING!
If this wasn't enough joy for one evening; the man singularly most responsible for the creation & dispersal of dub-culture, and still continuing to be a musical inspiration to successive generations; punk, hip-hop, dub-reggae, ambient-house, jungle, dubstep: the legendary Lee Scratch Perry, the Upsetter!!
