RETIREMENT NEWS

22nd September 2010
This summer I’ve spent a lot of time delving deeper in ‘The Archive’... I almost gave up altogether (again) when some fly-by-night promoter (Lock Off / Lock Down) stole my hard-earned images & published them ALL on Facebook without my permission... But what can you do? Well as he’s in infringement of Copyright Law, plenty. He bleated & boasted but at the end of the day Facebook removed his photo-albums, and a mere two events later, with a month of bookings cancelled, relocated instead to promote a cheap-booze & Chlamydia night at the Printworks!

Meanwhile, I issued my Cease&Desist order & rummaged through the back catalogue, lost myself in years of photography! So there’s been loads of content uploaded recently, so I thought I’d put together another News bulletin. Remember, if you haven’t already, you can keep up with me as I trawl depths & publish photos both old & new via the RSS feed on-site or by joining my Facebook Group MischiefMaker PhotoTaker

Gallery One: Exhibitions: I’ve added Ice Cream You Scream, recently resurrected for an Ex:ample Magazine feature, as well as earlier retrospective Inner City Soul: Gems at Contact. Work will also be included in a show coming there soon, the Black Sound Series. Watch this space!

Gallery Two: 1001 Mancunian Nights: Still considering my retirement from documenting recent events. Have lots of Hit&Run nights (hundreds of images) to catch up on as well as the monumental Religion nights (which were ready eons ago, blame the Reverend!) Gig of the summer though has to go to Dusk & Blackdown @ Band-on-the-Wall...

Gallery Three: Hulme Hall of Fame: Before covering live-music events this was my earlier obsession. I spent 4/5 years photographing the graffiti art which enveloped the notorious Hulme housing estate. Shot on B&W film as well as colour transparency these images haven’t seen the light of day in well over a decade! A time-capsule capturing how we used to live!

Gallery Four: UK Hip-Hop: Soon to disappear on-site to make way for new things to see, recent addition Est’elle & Mr Thing in vintage form! More Friends&Family fun to come!

Much much more more News should follow real soon...
