Friends-&-Family @ the-roadhouse 31.05.03

Hailing from Blackpool Funky Fresh Few were among the very first releases on Grand Central Records. A clutch of 12" EPs that also launched Tony D, First Priority & Aim from the Fat City record shop to the wider world outside the Northern Quarter

The perhaps aptly titled 'Slow For Focus' EP was followed up with classic 'Running Through These Veins' ft. Afu-Ra and then despite regular DJ appearances at all the early Fat City events further musical output was hardly prolific

This came to a head with 'Heavy Hittin' (2002) ft. Sinista, Stradegy (USA) & Wildflower (UK) an all-female posse cut which lead the way to a full LP the following year. 'Stealing' (Grand Central 2003) was a solid record. Old school head-nodders were treated to beats overlaid with vocals by Q'N'C (Q-Ball & Curt Cazal), Craig G, Dimes, Dirt Diggla & Jimmy Grand from America and Wig, Sage, Mr Dick and Derogatory from the UK

This Friends-&-Family was the LP launch party night. Mr Dick & Derogatory drop 'Live Wire' (among others) and the whole stage was continually tagged throughout!
