Aim (live) @ the Ritz, Manchester 20.10.02

Andy Turner AKA Aim was part of the Fat City roster from it's very earliest inception. He released four EPs on the Grand Central label ('Pacific North West, Soul Dive, Loop Dreams, Downstate) one a year from 1995, before his cold stone classic album 'Cold Water Music' dropped in 1999.

His next album 'Hinterland' (2002) was also beautifully crafted & critically acclaimed. He then co-wrote & produced 'Life On Earth', the debut album from Niko (2004), before they both left Grand Central to set up their own Atic Records. Since then we've had another Aim album 'Fight 602' (2006), another Niko album 'Hate & Love' (2012), releases by Crowhead, Gripper and most recently the excellent Q'N'C LP 'The Habit Of A Lifetime (& How To Kick It)' (2015)

These photographs are from the very first outing of the full live band and includes Aim alongside musicians and vocalists Niko, Kate Rogers and Spikey T. Support comes from DJ, producer and Grand Central label head Mark Rae alongside the powerful vocal talent of Veba. If you're wondering, and you probably are, why there are umbrellas in the crowd? They came out as the band performed their iconic instrumental https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ll1SzT0VdZE 'Cold Water Music'
